We are an intentionally small school with one mixed-age classroom, where children build trusting relationships with their peers and teachers and grow together as a community. Our mixed-age setting allows younger children to learn by watching and working alongside older children, while older children have opportunities to practice leadership, kindness, and responsibility.

Meadowsweet Montessori is the dream of our Founder, Heather Frost, who brought this special school to life with the hope of creating a Montessori community where children and families feel truly known and supported. Heather leads the Montessori classroom and makes the administrative decisions that guide our school. She is supported by a second trained Montessori Guide, and together they bring more than 20 years of experience to their work with children. Our Administrative Assistant also supports in the classroom and brings valuable nonprofit and community connection experience to our school.

Our small structure allows us to truly get to know each child and respond to the needs of the families we serve. We embrace each child as an individual and create a learning experience that follows their natural development, interests, and pace. We take the time to understand each child and create opportunities to bridge the gap between home and school.

We welcome curiosity and believe that strong social and emotional foundations are an important part of learning. From there, children are supported as they grow into our academic curriculum through hands-on experiences and individualized lessons. Montessori teachers guide each child as they work with carefully designed materials, giving them the opportunity to learn through experience, practice, and discovery.
